Rep. Steve Howard offers a solid foundation of leadership. 

*10 years as a state legislator, Steve has the skills and experience to fight for Rutland's priorities.

* A professional fund raiser and grassroots organizer,  Steve is self-employed and works as a consultant to clients throughout New England.

* Before running to represent Rutland City, Steve worked and met with local leaders and law enforcement officials  throughout the country. 
 
* Steve has advocated professionally to impact legislation before the U.S. Congress and U.S. Senate.

* A neighborhood activist & community leader.

 * Steve is successfully working to clean up blight and abandoned properties in Rutland.

Representative Howard has served on the House Committees on Institutions, Commerce, Ways and Means and as the Vice-Chair of the House Transportation Committee.   In 2008, Speaker Symington appointed Steve to  a special committee on Economic Recovery and Opportunity.


* The Howard Family has deep roots in Rutland.  Steve's Great Grandparents owned a grocery store on Allen Street.  His family owned and operated  businesses in Rutland County for decades.

* Steve graduated from MSJ in 1989 and Boston College in 1993 with a degree in Political Science.
